The special education team works collaboratively to specially design instruction to meet the unique needs of our student's with disabilities.
In the area of English Language Arts, focused instruction may include word study, comprehension through answering text dependent questions, and encouraging development in the areas of speaking and listening skills.
Please encourage the use of these skills at home by reading at least 20 minutes every night to your child and by completing daily homework assignments.
In math, our focus is on utilizing multiple strategies to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems.
We continue to incorporate a wide array of math tools to assist with using these strategies.
At home, you can practice these skills and strategies when working with money or by grouping sets of items.
In conclusion, by utilizing explicit, systematic and direct instruction in a small group setting,
it is our goal that students will continue to make steady progress in meeting their IEP Goals and Objectives.
