Our third graders have had a stellar start to the new year. In Literacy, students have been working on the strategies needed to be a successful reader in the third grade. For example, setting goals as a reader. It is important that students are able to set a time for themselves for reading and try to match the goal. Another goal readers have set for themselves is the the numbers of book to be read in a particular range of time.
In Math, we have begun to learn about multiplication. The focus has been on the strategies that students can use to be successful with multiplication: arrays, number lines, equal groups, and the distributive property. Ask your student to explain these to you. If you have any questions we are always available through email or a phone call. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
